Send a note of encouragementTO A CHRISTIAN WIDOW IN NIGERIA
When 500 Fulani Islamic militants attacked villages near Jos, Nigeria, last June 23–24, Christians in the area could only pray and flee. By the time the attacks had ended, hundreds were dead and more than 10,000 — primarily Christians — had been displaced from their homes and villages.
The Fulani Nationality Movement took credit for the attacks and promised there would be more. “Our men are waiting,” the group threatened. “We are eager to fight.” The group has promised to fight against all those “raising their voices against us and against Allah.” Christians in Nigeria are no strangers to persecution. In recent years, Boko Haram has devastated churches and families, leaving many widows and orphans in the wake of their attacks. But faithful believers continue to live and serve Christ in Nigeria.
Through an initiative from The Voice of the Martyrs, you can send a personal note of encouragement to a Christian widow in Nigeria.
Because many Nigerians read English, you have the opportunity to communicate directly with these dear Nigerian sisters. Please use the provided form to write a note of encouragement to a Christian widow in Nigeria.
You may want to include a passage of Scripture, a prayer that you have prayed on their behalf or simply a note letting them know that other Christians around the world have not forgotten them. Write your message in the space provided.
(Please do not include self-identifying information, political comments or negative comments about any person, religion or group. VOM will share your first name with the recipient only if it is safe to do so in the specific place where your note is delivered.)
