Christian Child Burned, Orphaned in Attack

Militant rebel groups in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) occasionally raid villages, burn buildings, and murder residents. Eight-year-old Divine is one of their victims. In June 2022, rebels entered her village and burned several churches and homes. The church that Divine and her parents attended was set ablaze, and so was their home. Divine’s parents died in the blaze; though badly burned, Divine survived. She is now being cared for at a Christian clinic where the doctor says that because of severe scarring, she needs additional surgeries. Doctors believe Divine will eventually be able to return to school. Pray for front-line workers as they are evaluating her situation and needs for long-term assistance as she has no surviving family.
