Convert to Christ Attacked, Brought to Court

When Bassam committed his life to Christ, it enraged his Muslim wife. She couldn’t believe he had changed his religious beliefs as their country of residence is less than 1% Christian. She immediately kicked him out of the home and sent family members to attack him; they beat him and burned his car. His wife also filed a legal case against him. When asked before the judge if he had truly converted, he said, “Yes, Jesus is my Lord and Savior.” He was ordered to keep quiet about his faith, but he cannot. Bassam was scavenging for cans along the street for money when front-line workers learned of his situation. Bassam worries about his ability to provide for his needs as retirement approaches and about his children’s future as some of them have also decided to follow Jesus.
