Bhaluwan Kumar Paiswan was serving a 20-year prison sentence for gang-related crimes when he ended up in a cell with a Christian evangelist. Annoyed at first, he eventually placed his faith in Christ and experienced new joy and peace. When he was released early, he met another evangelist who discipled him, and they began to work together. The church in that village grew to 25 people in a few years with many more showing interest. Bhaluwan’s family was living in the home of an uncle, but this uncle grew angry that Bhaluwan was openly practicing Christianity and kicked them out of the house, forcing the young family to live in a tent by the road. In early 2024, relatives confronted them and severely beat Bhaluwan and his wife, Bina. Bhulawan and Bina continue to be witnesses to the community. They are praying and fasting, growing in their faith and winning others to Christ even amid hardship.
