Front-Line Workers Request Prayer amid Ongoing Attacks
Nearly all Christians in northeastern Nigeria have lost family members or friends in attacks by Boko Haram or Fulani Islamic militants. Entire congregations have been displaced, and many pastors have been forced to leave the region. Thousands of Christians remain in camps designated for internally displaced people (IDP). Because of recent attacks, VOM front-line workers request prayers for their safety while traveling: “Some roads are under siege by bandits and kidnappers.” The worker also stated that “some villages in Southern Kaduna State, a Christian-majority part of Kaduna, have been under nearly constant attack” over the past year. Please pray for the front-line workers’ safety and for the protection of all Nigerian Christians living in areas where violence, kidnapping and murder by Islamic extremists are common.
