Pastor Abducted

In February 2023, jihadists burned and destroyed Pastor Laurent’s church in eastern Burkina Faso. Then, in March 2023, jihadists abducted Pastor Laurent when he traveled to attend a regional pastors’ meeting. As the kidnappers forced him into the bush, he sent one text to his family, who haven’t heard from him since. A local villager later reported seeing him bound, blindfolded and being transported by the Islamic militants to a different area. VOM has helped his wife and six children move to a more secure location. The family asks for prayers that Pastor Laurent’s life will be preserved and that he will be set free.
